Honey Flapjacks: Thursday’s BUZZworthy Recipe

Honey Flapjacks

Serves: 9

Time: 20 Minutes

  • 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  • ½ cup mixed dried fruit
  • ½ cup chopped mixed unsalted nuts
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter
  • ¾ cup honey
  • ¾ cup caster sugar

Directions

  • preheat oven to 350
  • Grease a baking tray that will hold the mixture
  • Add the sugar honey and butter to a large saucepan. Heat gently until the mixture is smooth, DO NOT ALLOW THE SUGAR TO BURN OR IT WILL BE BITTER.
  • Turn off the heat and pour the oats, nuts and fruit to the heated mixture. Slowly mix it together until it has coated all the dry mixture.
  • Spread the mixture out on the baking tray and cook in the oven for 30-40 minutes. It should have a lovely golden brown color. Allow the flapjacks to cool and cut into squares.
